Sakamoto Days Chapter 228 Recap: The Granny, the Drunkard, and a Brutal Fight

Chapter 228, titled “Lu” was a roller coaster of action and humor. The chapter opened with Lou, despite being out of alcohol, transforming into her “Drunken Triad Mode” thanks to a quick dose of alcohol and a well placed pressure point from Granny Miya. Her newfound strength and speed allowed her to break the policeman’s weapon, stab his leg and push him into a speeding car. She then held him at gunpoint, offering him mercy in exchange for a peaceful life.

The cop, however, was no ordinary villain. He scoffed at the idea of a peaceful life, claiming that a life without pain or fear of death has no flavor. He used his police badge to blind Lou and then handcuffed her, turning the tables in an instant. Meanwhile, the chapter cut to Heisuke‘s battle against Kumonami and a zombified Hyo, where Heisuke was seen laying unconscious and covered in blood, leaving his fate uncertain and the chapter ending on a heart stopping cliffhanger.

Sakamoto Days Chapter 229 Predictions & Theories: A Deadly Cliffhanger

With two fights left on a major cliffhanger, Chapter 229 will be full of shocking moments. The focus will likely split between Lou’s perilous situation and Heisuke’s dire battle.

Heisuke’s Fate: The final panel of Chapter 228 showed Heisuke taking a devastating blow, with the manga seemingly hinting at his death. However, this could be a fake out. Heisuke has always been resourceful and his seemingly indestructible rifle could be the key to his survival. It’s possible he’ll be saved by a surprise intervention from another character or that he’ll find a way to use his surroundings to his advantage.
Lou’s Escape: Lou is now handcuffed and at gunpoint but her “Drunken Triad Mode” is still active. She is a seasoned assassin and it’s highly unlikely she’ll be defeated so easily. She will likely use her wits and agility to break free from the handcuffs and turn the tables on the cop once again.

Granny Miya’s earlier statement that his recovery is up to him could be a hint that he is fighting his way back to consciousness. The peril faced by Lou and Heisuke may be the emotional trigger that finally brings Sakamoto back into the fight, a comeback that would shake the entire JAA.
