Get ready for an action packed comedy with a twist! The official announcement has been made for a TV anime adaptation of “Kill Blue,” the popular manga by Tadatoshi Fujimaki, the creator of the iconic sports series “Kuroko’s Basket.” The anime is set to premiere in 2026.
The series follows the story of an infamous, middle aged hitman who, after an unfortunate incident, finds himself transformed back into his 13-year-old self. To regain his original body he must take on his most challenging mission yet: navigating the treacherous world of middle school. The catch? He’s always been better at assassination than academics, setting the stage for a hilarious and chaotic journey.
The anime is being produced by Animation Studio CUE with Hiro Kaburagi (“Kimi ni Todoke,” “Great Pretender”) helming the project as director. This creative team is set to bring Fujimaki’s unique blend of action and comedy to life, promising a thrilling and comical viewing experience.
“Kill Blue” has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since April 2023, and its final chapter was published just as the anime announcement was made, marking a new chapter for the popular series. Fans can anticipate a high-energy “redo your youth” story that combines heart-pounding battles with the awkward and endearing chaos of school life.
